Morning Care/Aftercare Program

St. James Catholic School

​GOAL: To provide a supervised, Catholic environment before and after regular school hours for the students of St. James Catholic School.
The St. James Morning Care and Aftercare Program has been approved by the Diocese of Kansas City - St. Joseph as a program for students of St. James Catholic School. This program is provided only on days when school is in session; we do not provide service on days when school is closed.

The Morning Care Program opens at 7:00 AM.  This is a quiet time to study, to finish homework, and to interact socially with other students while waiting for the school day to begin.  At 7:30 AM students are dismissed to their homerooms.
The Morning and Aftercare Program benefits many families of St. James by providing a safe, Catholic Christian environment for their children where all caregivers and students show respect and kindness for each other.
 
The Aftercare Program time consists of a snack, time to do schoolwork, and time to play inside or outside (if the weather cooperates).The Aftercare Program closes at 5:30 PM.

"SAINT for a Day"

"SAINT for a Day" is your child’s chance to get an inside look at being a St. James Catholic School student!  As a SAINT for the Day your child will be our guest and attend a regular school day with one of our students.  Your child will witness the spirit that makes SJS special.  Your child will have the chance to meet our teachers and students and learn more about our academics and programs.
